Based on an unbranded American coverall discovered in a coal mine and dating back to the 1910s, the Lot.303 Coverall Jacket by T.T reflects the utilitarian spirit of early industrial workwear. Preserved in Takahashi’s collection for over a century, the original garment embodies a moment in American manufacturing when mass production began to replace traditional craftsmanship. Worn by labourers at the foundation of the industrial economy, garments like this prioritised durability and function above all else. Staying faithful to the original specifications, the design retains its simplified construction, flat patterning, and practical pocket layout. Subtle refinements, including a slightly sloped shoulder, improve the fit through the underarm while maintaining the garment’s workwear character.
The jacket is crafted from an original cotton twill woven on vintage-style power looms, creating a fabric with rich texture and subtle shifts in colour. Three dyes are applied at different stages of the process to produce a nuanced, almost iridescent surface — reminiscent of ceramic glaze techniques, resulting in a uniquely layered tone. As the dyeing is done individually, each piece carries slight variations, making every jacket one of a kind.

ABOUT THE BRAND
T.T, a unisex brand based in New York and Kyoto, was founded by Taiga Takahashi, whose education fused Japanese culture with Western ideas. After graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2017, he launched his brand, centred on the concept of "resurrecting relics of the past to unearth artifacts of the future." Takahashi, an avid collector of vintage garments from the pre-mass production era, emphasises the historical value of craftsmanship. Through an archaeological lens, he reinterprets time-worn fabrics and sewing details, creating garments meant to endure for centuries, incorporating endangered traditional Japanese techniques and collaborating with skilled artisans.
