Easy Shirt Warm Gray Washed Cotton Shirting

The Easy Shirt is one of Aviva Jifei Xue’s signature designs, valued for its relaxed proportions and everyday ease. For SS26, the chest pocket is reworked as a topstitched welt pocket that recalls the form of a traditional patch pocket.

Cut from yarn-dyed cotton shirting with a softly wrinkled finish, the cloth has a relaxed handle from the outset and becomes more supple through regular wear.

A curved hem and horn buttons keep the shirt familiar and practical. The small adjustment to the pocket shows Aviva’s approach well - established forms are developed through quiet changes in construction.

Aviva Jifei Xue, a New York-based designer, launched her eponymous label in 2020, drawing deeply from her upbringing between Japan and China. A graduate of Parsons’ fashion design program in 2017, where she specialized in menswear, Xue’s work blends heritage with materiality. Natural fibres—hemp, wool, linen, and silk—are central to her collections, often naturally dyed and adorned with ceramic buttons as a nod to tradition. Her designs emphasize craft and old-world production techniques, utilising antique fabrics and custom-made textiles sourced from generational mills in Japan, resulting in pieces that celebrate timeless craftsmanship.
