A bold reinterpretation of the classic MA-1, the Boro Crane Monk MA1 Jacket in Indigo is reimagined with Eastern detailing and a vivid visual language. This cropped flight jacket features a Tibetan-style asymmetric closure and internal carry straps for off-body wear. The standout all-over print draws from the Japanese tradition of Boro, a patchwork mending technique from the Edo period reimagined here with origami crane motifs and intricate hand-machine embroidery. Finished with hi-vis orange lining and vintage-style brass zippers, it’s a statement piece that bridges heritage craft and contemporary function.

Maharishi releases the Maha Year of the Crane collection, incorporating a diverse range of styles that pay tribute to the crane’s ancient and widespread symbolic value—though not an official part of the Chinese zodiac, the Maha Year of the Crane has been conceptualised to honour the bird’s associations with longevity, peace, and grace—alongside a series of pacifist-military designs representing Maharishi’s values of sustainability and innovation.

Founded in 1994 by Hardy Blechman, Maharishi explores the dualistic nature of the universe – expressed through blending Eastern and Western silhouettes and graphic influences, taking a pacifist approach to military-grade utilitarian design, representing camouflage as a symbol of nature and art, and respecting nature whilst utilising technology.
